The Windows System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Windows-based systems and servers. This role involves managing the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing security measures. The Windows System Administrator will work closely with other IT staff to maintain system availability, enhance performance, and ensure that the IT environment supports business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers (Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022) and related systems infrastructure.
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.
  • Perform regular system backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve speed and reliability.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory.
  • Ensure the security of systems by applying patches, updates, and antivirus solutions in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues for users.
  • Work with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for server deployment and management.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Provide on-call support for system-related incidents and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with IT support teams to ensure effective communication and resolution of IT issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and changes.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Windows system administration or a similar role.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows-based services.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong knowledge of system security practices, including patch management and access control.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.
