Yesterday(1/24), the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the job report for the month of December. In December, Maryland saw the lowest unemployment rate since mid 2022.

In December, Maryland’s total jobs decreased by 200. This is a significant decrease compared to December of 2021 when Maryland added 4,700 jobs.
Unemployment Rate
December brought the unemployment rate to 4.0%, This is a 1% decrease compared to December of 2021.
Compared to December of 2021, Maryland’s total jobs added have decreased, however the unemployment rate is a whole 1% lower than it was at this time last year.
